don't take a bank loan just because it is being hawked around.GG above is right - it should be demand/need-driven! Ideally, for large amts what is being financed should be able to generate enough cash-flows that will meet the repayment instalments.

Be careful with bank loans - I have seen people committed to civil jail (Lang'ata Womens) for failing to repay bank loans.
