Makao - 50 House Design

hi guys this is interesting, am also looking to build a one bedroom flats on a 1/4 or 1/8 acre within uthiru and kinoo by december 2014. as everyone is asking here i need to know the costings of every bit from s=the foundation to the complete structure and am also trying to avoid loans much as i can. i have a plot i bought at 4m and now the next step is to build rooms for rentals within the shortest time possible so that i can start to recover my expenses.
lets build.

@westkate - My advise to you would be to get a quantity surveyor who has experience in Uthiru to do the costing. Use the document as an estimate or guide +10% for any unforeseeable stuff that might crop up during the project! Good luck, it can be done!

Hey, did you ever get to do this? How was the experience? Was the quality up to par? How did they do in terms of sticking to the projected costs and timelines?

I'm right about where you were when you asked this. I have a couple of contractors who have provided informal quotes which are less than what Makao/HFCK quoted but I'd be interested in how it worked out. Thanks.

So yesterday I contacted HFCK and they have this so called Makao (Funga Stress, Fungua Makao) thing going on....

They literary do everything from Architectural designs, supervision, all you have to do is show proof of Title, some income documents and pick a design of the property you want from a list they are calling 50 House Design (See PDF on the link below including costs).


They will do the rest and they will call you after the duration agreed to collect the keys..

PS. considering it to save the mafundi headache and the fact that I will not be around to oversee the construction....
