@ evolve,

you may get the information on domestic solar water heaters on this link: http://www.energysavers....index.cfm/mytopic=12850

as for the specialist firms which do these, may be you need to check with Volcanic Plumbers,Aquaplumbers,Allied plumbers,Davis & Shirtliff,Nelliwa Builders etc..

@ pablo,

the 330 watts solar panel is available here: http://www.schottsolar.c...20ASE%20300-DG%20US.pdf

better the devil we know… was skeptical when this discussion started out… its all in the math:- cost of solar – 1.1m; cost of wind – tower higher than kicc; unless economies of scale thru estate associations… doubtful coz even security payment is a problem leave alone contributing for a borehole…but I have done my bit… switched to instant shower, planted a few trees, etc…now looking for solar panel for tv and some lights… just concerned that panels are thief magnets

Hi all,

i was digging through the KRAs customs tax schedules and found that all solar power generation equipment are zero-tax rated and are therefore not taxed...the zero-rating tax incentive for the solar power generation equipment was introduced in june 2006...i guess it is now cheaper to import the solar panels and the windmills. sourcing installation labour locally will make the overall installation cost much lower as compared to sourcing the materials and labour locally...
