I think he is projecting a final dividend for 2017 of 3/-...going by last years final dividend of 3/-

Okay ladies listen up..... dividend yield is calculated per annum not everytime a divend is declared.

Looking at KCBs dividend policy, its been pretty predictable. Bet u 50 bob the final will be a minimum of 3/- add that to the interim and viola ....you have a dividend yield of 10% on todays price. Now is that too complicated Wazua elders?

As you were.....

Nevertheless the price will come down after the takeover is formalised and we will be happy to buy cheaper.

No guarantee the takeover will happen...and by the way...if KCB is going in for the many government accounts at NBK...wouldnt that be (1) concentration risk from GOK perspective (2) what stops gok from spreading those accounts to other banks in future...it will be like buying a block of flats because the premium tenants but no guarantee the tenants will stay (3) yes KCB might enjoy the economies of scale...but what is the cost benefit analysis...will the bleeding be worth the gain? (4) there is still the anti-competition or monopolies hurdle to be overcome

Just saying.

I support the takeover deal because kcb will greatly benefit from cheap deposits from govt agencies. As shareholders, our exposure to gok mgt risk seen in other companies will still be very minimal. After the takeover, gok stake will be somewhere around 30% though im not sure of this as i read it somewhere in the news.

My view is that KCB shouldnt touch NBK...even with a 10foot pole. The ineffeficiences...including npls will be to high a cost to be offset by the cheaper funds...

Think differently...nbk has the cheap funds but its suffering...kcb acquiring nbk wont cure the systemic problems overnight...so it bleeds...for some time ...maybe a long time..culture doesnt transfer immediately...its a poor bargain in my opnion....

If KCB is hungry for acquisition let it target a better bank than nbk.
