Appointment of Mr. Michael Waweru as Chairman to the East African Cables Board.

The Board of East African Cables is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Michael Waweru (MG) as the Chairman to the Board of Directors.

Mr. Waweru has been a director of East African Cables Board since 6th August 2012 where he has chaired the Audit board committee. He takes up the position from Mr. Zephaniah Mbugua who retired from the Board on 22nd of June 2017.

Mr. Waweru holds Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Strathmore Business School and is a graduate of University of Nairobi where he attained his Bachelor of Commerce Honors Degree. He is a
Fellow of the Association of Chartered Accountants (FCCA), Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (FCPA) and a member of the Institute of Directors and certified trainer on Corporate Governance.
He was awarded the Chief of the Order of Burning Spear CBS, by H.E The President of the Republic Kenya, for achievement in raising Tax Revenue while he served as the Commissioner General – Kenya Revenue
Authority from 2003 to 2012. MG has also served as Partner, Senior Partner and Managing Partner, Ernst & Young – East Africa during the period 1985 to 2002. He is the current Chairman of Alexander Forbes
Group in Kenya and a Director XRX Technologies Limited.
