if someone calls your old number, they receive a text message informing them of your new number 075*******. You also receive a text that number 07******** called your old number. That's all it does

once you activate imoved, you need to switch off your old number. You won't receive sms's because the service does not forward sms's from your old number to your new number. YU network sends you and the person who tried calling you an sms informing you of someone who called your old number because its already switched off. The caller also receives a sms from YU network informing him/her of your new number

@njunge, i've tested, working with safcon but not with zain.
Your number that is off should have some credit though it won't be used.
You also need to receive "successful" reply once you send the two text messages to 807.
Lastly, to setup the service you need NOT to use nokia 11xx series or motorola c113 when setting up. Setup with other handsets.
You can try the process again but first send the message deactivate to 807.
If all fails call 100

@Jaguar,
There is some credit in the number and true i received two "successful" confirmation texts.Final step was diverting all calls to 0750008000 which i also did.Guess what,from then on,people calling me from YU lines could not go thru and the message was "error in network connection".This went on until i cancelled the divert.I am not giving up and as you've suggested,let me try the process all over again.....As for calls to 100,all i get is voice service which is of no help while calls to helpline 0750100100 went "the person you have called is not available" (HOW???d'oh! ).Most unfortunate is there is no e-address where i can post my complain(Again, HOW in this age and time???).....Very Pocket friendly though.
