Last evening was disappointing. We, literally gave Ethiopians 4 medals inside an hour and now we lie sixth where i had hoped we would be tops this morning. Let's say our hope now lies Jeruto and Wangui (800 W) but the Ethiopians have Hirut Meshesha. Zakayo and Mburu (3000 m) have Ethiopian Selemo Barega to contend with but in the 2000 Metres, Meyan and Bett seem to have an easier task. GO TEAM KENYA!

The Ethiopians are running tactically superior races and it seems they have stronger athletes .Today may just be a replica of yesterday but with crowd behind the young lads lets wait and see

An amazing event. An even more amazing finale.

I hope Kenya returns the favour and withdraws from any IAAF athletic event hosted by the US, New Zealand, Britain, Australia, Canada and Switzerland.

BTW congrats to South Africa. They have become Africa's premier sprinting nation and are still dominant in the field events. They are doing something right.

Also Its almost pointless. Success at youth level rarely translates to success at senior level. Of course there are exceptions like Faith Kipyegon. But the vast majority of the medalists at this event rarely succeed at senior level. For girls I especially think burnout is a factor.

Now Kenya wants to host the U20 event. Its like throwing money away. They would be better off investing that money to fund the training of field event and short distance athletes like South Africa is doing now. Thats why they are doing really well in the sprints now.
