He may be a dictator but Kenyan leaders are corrupt, are murderers, are land grabbers and tribalists.

I would rather have a dictator like Magufuli than the murderous corrupt lot that has been ruling Kenya for 54 years.

He is a corrupt dictator. Abuse of power is also corruption

Very poor logic. As I have stated above, Magufulis is no saint. But Kenyan leaders are committing acts that are 10 times worse.

You speak of abuse of power yet abuse of power is 10 times worse in Kenya.

And in Kenya the damage is permanent: Once Ruto and his ilk have grabbed land for primary schools and land for water catchments, it will never be recovered.

And When Kenyan leaders steal elections the result is 1000 people die and thousands more are displaced forever.

So no matter how you twist it, Magufuli is a saint compared to Kenyan leaders

Do you know what logic is?

You already told us that the law that allows headteachers to expel pregnant girls from school has existed in Tanzania since 2002. So Magufuli is simply enforcing the law. He is not being dictatorial nor corrupt.

Since when does enforcing the law make someone a corrupt dictator? Perhaps only in your head.

Thats why I said you are using warped/twisted logic

Wouldn't a logical President ruling in the 21st century be seeking to change that law through his party?

A law that violates the basic right of a child should not even be uttered and propagated by a so called President. That's just basic logic.

@murchr.

When Kenya is comparing herself, she picks South Korea & Malaysia (two quite developed countries) and we marvel at how 60 years ago,we were at par, or even, better economically /development-wise.

60 years later, Kenya is still dogged by the same old ills of poverty, disease & illiteracy, inspite our 'democracy'.

South Korea & Malaysia had dictators, Kenya had corrupt land grabbers. They developed, we didn't.

Ethiopia & Rwanda under dictators, will develop as we sing 'democracy'. Tanzania may do the same & 60 years later, the year 2077, , , ,alama ya duku duku!

Here in the ranch? Same old thuggery of 60 years ago. Even Mau forest, a water tower, has been forsaken. The people affected by the resulting environmental degradation, still have the audacity to sing of 'democracy'.
What we have in Kenya is nothing but wanton flaunting of stupity. Doing nothing but chasing tails. Stinking tails.

There's a difference btn a benovelent dictator and one who prosecutes mps because they said he talks too much

Unfortunately, the fruits of iron fist rule are seen & appreciated much later, not in the early stages and others, not during.

Remember the kind of heat CS Matiangi was receiving when he was implementing those radical rules, go to the Wazua thread. He was being called all sorts of names.
Now everyone sings his name. Of coz until the airport incident.

Magufuli did a good deal of infrastructure as a minister, as a president, I expect him to do much more with all the savings he's making.

Let's review Magufuli at the end of the current term.

You keep changing your story. First you said he was corrupt and dictatorial now you claim he is illogical.

And again, Kenyan leaders are 10 times worse than Magufuli. You lot are just complaining to try to deflect that attention from the fact that Kenyan leaders are rotten and are doing permanent damage to the country.

The opposition 2nd in command leader arrested-apparently for calling Magufuli 'Dictator'
Quote:
Tanzanian opposition number two Tundu Lissu has been arrested, three days after having called President John Magufuli a "dictator", party sources said.
No reasons were given for the arrest of Lissu, a member of parliament, the Chadema opposition party chief whip and a leading lawyer.

Magufuli, whose nickname 'tingatinga' (bulldozer), swept to power in 2015, presenting himself as a no-nonsense, corruption-busting, man-of-the-people.
However critics see a wide authoritarian streak at the core of his populism. They argue he acts on impulse regardless of due process or political niceties, while being intolerant of any dissent.
Lissu spoke of a "climate of fear which reigns everywhere", accusing Magufuli of constructing "a system based on favouritism, tribalism and regionalism".
Opposition meetings are banned, newspapers have been shut down and journalists and artists have been threatened or received death threats for criticising the administration
