Should prompt board be banned or normal board done away with?

The difference between normal and prompt is only the settlement duration (time for brokers to pay each other),4 days vs 1 day. Shares on the other hand are obtained instantaneously from CDSC.

So perhaps seeing that we're now in the age of Internet and RTGS, the normal board can now be done away with, and everything settled in the 1 day.

How exactly does it help in robbing "unsuspecting investors"?

I'll try this once more (reminds me of some mboys in primo who had to repeat the multiplication tables on their way to school just so they could remember what 2*2 was).

Point number one-anybody can trade on the prompt board.
Point number two- the prompt board is there for those who need liquidity quickly. That is hwy you'll see peeps accepting lower prices. So they can cash at t+1.
Point number three- if you can't make mbesa in the NSE, you can't make at Gikomba so stop clutching at straws...

Could CFC brokers be using prompt board for everyone...they'v become super fast in the last fortnight or so!! In the past (b4 the sackings) they would ask one to check a trade after 2 days (fair enough within t+4)...no so these days...you place an order and in a few seconds you're told it's gone thro' while still at trading desk [this has happened with me on 3 occasions)...geez I'm thinking of becoming day trader...to 'Prompt Board' I say - go baby, go...

Nonsense, Prompt lots trades should not be allowed. is encouraging unfair competition. Let the normal board prevail.
Do it today! Tomorrow is promise to no-one.

@mufasa...

If the normal board did not exist and all trades were executed at t+1 i.e Prompt board, where would the unfair competition arise from?

We shouldn't be asking our institutions to take a step backwards, we should be encouraging them to look forward... i.e increase efficiency...

That said, I can see unfair competition arising from the existence of BOTH boards at the same time.

@ all it looks like most people here are in favour of one board thats the PROMPT BOARD...to allow day trading...increase efficiency...the aim of this thread is to indicate how brokers out there are abusing the two boards to dupe investors surely if u sell your shares 10% below the market price u wouldnt be to happy or will u?????
