is CCK wise? Now safaricom can't make a counter offer until 3 months from now. Its like boxing but one party cannot punch until the third round

Zain Kenya is slashing calling rates in strategic focus to the mass market.I doubt that will turn around zain. That mass market already has orange and yu.I believe this thing should never have been about prices. With calling tariffs going as low as 1/= i think mobile companies can't make money from voice calls. This thing should be more about innovative products and services. The ARPU on voice calls is ridiculously so low it doesn't make business sense...innovation zain, eat, drink, sleep and dream innovation, not low calling rates.Or is this warped logic from the new owners..."butt" airtime....sorry Bharti airtel?

@Kaviaru,,, there is no drive for Zain to be innovative if you do not have numbers. Zain are trying to win numbers to their network. The main thing is, how do they retain the converts. They got to be leading in all fronts being innovative, being customer responsive,, etc... At the end, when the market matures, the calling rates will go up. For now, lets enjoy the fights. Don't you?

tarrif competition is not just unhealthy but to the companies are making great losses.its how you market yourself and accommodate everyone .the former kencell made a big mistake. when they first started in kenya ,target market was just the upper class, so people have this attitude that zain is just expensive.whatever product they come with.it does not work for them.
