You are drawing comparisons with equity but that should not be he case. All businesses must have a political aspect within them. The question is how much percentage? In my opinion, These two multi-national banks have very little politics influencing them in Kenya. Unlike Equity, these two have there policies drafted from abroad. policy=control=politics.

@kyt I actually don't see what is improper about discussing political risk companies face. In fact I know for a fact that banks appraise political risk when lending to politicians.

So the issue is to what extent BBK and SCBK obtain their business from Gov, are owned by, or deal with politically sensitive individuals.

My uninformed opinion:
NBK faces bigger risk due to ownership
Equity currently has higher affiliation to powers that be
BBK and SCBK have largest local owner with no more than 1.5%

I do not equate higher political risk with political bank. These banks in Kenya are now run more professionally, a far cry from political banks of the 90s
