I am looking for a reliable prepaid card for online shopping and payment. The 2 best options of Nakumatt global and DTBs Nationhella are not being issued. Kindly give options and charges levied on the cards. I am avoiding credit and debit cards.

Why are they not being issued? Is it because of the problems Nakumatt is facing

I get the feeling they are phasing them out as they are not profitable

You can try the NIC one...ummmh problem I had with that one is that you have to preload the specific currency you want esp if you are travelling out of the country.

Isn't a prepaid card a debit card?

Keyword is prepaid. Not linked to his usual bank account.
Visit your nearest KCB branch and get sorted

I concur. The KCB Pepea card will be your best bet. No charges levied. And is not tied to your identity.

I&M also has a multi-currency card with an online portal.

Very handy. Holds up to 10k euro, 10k dollar and 10k pounds. Can disable and enable online purchases. Customer care very efficient.

I was at I&M yesterday, liked the product but the overheads are a bit discouraging. They levy USD 25 to acquire and a host of other small charges. I would like one with minimal maintenance fee since I will be using it occasionally and I rarely travel out of Kenya

Good card/service but there's a price to pay. Good luck!
Doesn't DTB have a card [not Hela]?
