Waaah....Bentley Bentayga. Pretty confident we'll start seeing some on Kenyan roads soon...and the rich will dump the Porsche Cayennes to get the new shiny toy..I remember it started with the Range Rover sport, the Cayenne arrived and the Rover Sport was not cool anymore (the older model at least), siku hizi I see "hustlers", children in their late 20's and other "riffraff" driving the car! When the Cayennes (the new shape ones) eventually hit 2.5 on their slide down I might make a very stupid decision and buy one ...it might go a very long way in smoothing the way with the ladies (take the Jap car peoples women .. )....or not...unanyang'anywa unanyang'anyana au siyo? after all, you only live once! Happy Easter! The way of ladies and cars. One thing that remains a mystery to me. I will also get myself a Cayennes Are we comparing marriage partners to cars now? A car is no different from any other item like new micro-wave, new phone, new house, new shoe etc. You can buy and sell these items anytime... But you can't buy and sell a wife or husband. Marriage is about commitment. And unfortunately, I seems not to see this coming out from kina @bigchick...

In India, the girl's family pays the dowry for the man, completing the use case that a man can also be bought And don't argue the line of dowry being a token and all that jazz ...if it was a token people wouldn't haggle. Teremka hapa Kiambu ama Murang'a usikie of brides whose families ask for a million. Its commercial. Its all commercial...(even life, which is assigned the monetary sum of your life insurance policy ) You can also sell your wife/husband...or more commonly discard him/her. It is called separation,...or divorce. In the middle east it is as easy as making 3 pronouncements. Or is it 4? The details elude me. Sounds unfair to the ladies, they should also be able to ditch a guy by making 3 pronouncements. In marriage, you commit, and when you can't commit any more, you find a reason or an excuse to stay in the institution, and when you can't, you go your separate ways. It's life in the 21st Century. Its the way it is and it will inexorably march forward regardless of quaint and nostalgic feelings we hold of a time when men and women were decent and respectable in general.

Hiyo 'villager' remark ...snide I'm glad you've been educated hapo juu kidogo na @mavegs regarding differentiating dowry from so-called bride-price... It's ironical to see one pretending to talk for women attach a price to her like buying and selling a cow! And as for divorce, yes a woman can initiate divorce. Please study about something first before you start following the crowd or making roadside assertions... In fact, in our constitution, woman goes with what she only brought in or invested, days of getting married only to leave a week later with half of wealth are gone.
