Yes! But T+3 will begin working against speculators. At the end of the week a zero sum game shall be registered by many.

Let's wait and see how the market responds today.

Safaricom cannot seem to catch a break. The onslaught seems relentless. The tree is being shaken and only the strong willed will hold on as this one heads south.

A great PR opportunity Safaricom missed. They should have blasted it in media before this leak and control the narrative.

Its time for Safaricom 3.0. Fresh thinking required in Waiyaki Way.
- Splitting MPESA into a separate business will be good (not forced by politicians); and position company as a pre- and post-banking financial services innovator.

- Safaricom to focus attention on core comms business by getting everybody to a smartphone, inspire apps and sell data in a big way. No more scalability in voice and SMS.

Safaricom (NSE: SCOM) has announced that it will from next week implement a 50% tariff reduction for all Lipa Na M-PESA Buy Goods merchant fees. Under this new Lipa Na M-PESA tariff, merchants will be charged a maximum of 0.5% of the transaction amount, down from the previous maximum of 1%.

In addition, Lipa na M-PESA merchants will charged a flat fee of Sh200, for any payments above Sh40,000.

Today, Safaricom has also announced availability of M-PESA functionality in the mySafaricom App, which will see the more than 24 million M-PESA customers enjoy the convenience of transacting from their Android and iOS smartphones.

The app enables customers to select contacts from their phone when sending money and has a vastly improved implementation of the name search function Hakikisha — which allows the sender to confirm the recipient before the money is sent.

Customers will also have the convenience of confirming the names of agents or businesses before sending or withdrawing money as they complete Lipa Na M-PESA transactions.

Most folks here are accustomed to think Safaricom is immune to a great crash. Meltdown continues!

Maybe not. Reduced charges could result in greater transaction volumes hence greater earnings

These traders are really making it hard for longterm investors to take improved position.
I need to improve my position in this counter.Im waiting at 15.00-16.00 to improve my average buy price of 16.60 otherwise i will be forced to leave this valuable company if i will never get this prices.I would have liked my grandchild to inherit this counter from my portfolio but it seems its leaving me.

The can call the Package "E-Safaricom"
