so it's more 'cultural'! in the league of saying 'shikamoo' to your folks rather than 'sasa!' except that one of the parties is ... dead!

The same way believers in life after death say RIP. the party is... dead!

Yes!

Let me make a clarification: greetings and prayer are different. For example 'shikamoo' is a greeting addressed to a party. But RIP or 'tunaombea Kenya' etc is a prayer addressed to God.

When we mention the name of prophet, messenger or their righteous companions:

1. Messengers: Adam, Enoch, Noah, Lot, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Aron, Moses, David, Solomon, Job, Ezekiel, Jonah, Elias, Elisha, Zakarias, John, Jesus and Muhammad we say 'Alaihi As-sallam': "peace be upon him"

2. Angels: Jibril (Gariel), Mikail (Michael) etc we say 'Alaihi As-sallam': "peace be upon him"

3. Righteous women: e.g. Mariam mother of Jesus, and other female companions of prophets we say Radiallahu anha: "God is pleased with her"

4. Righteous men: male companions of prophets we say Radiallahu anhu: "God is pleased with her"

Summary:
Alaihi As-salam for Messengers and Angels: "peace be upon him". Radhiallahu anhu goes for the Anbia i.e. all prophets (male): "God is pleased with him".
Radiallahu anhu goes for males Companions and those around prophets: "God is pleased with her".
Radiallahu anha goes for females Companions and those around prophets: "God is pleased with him".
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam for Nabi Muhammad (S.A.W.) only: "God grant him peace and honour".

So for Mariam (the mother of Jesus) we say RadiAllahu anha: "God is pleased with her"

hapa ni mzungushano tu.

Kisha - Avoiding the question asked and "answering" one that was never asked and running with it.

Hii mambo watu wanafanya ni culture tu. Tena za wenyewe.

End Death sentence: - women convicts say

Just as absolute power corrupts leaders, so does absolute fanaticism blind the people from logic

Last kicks of a dying horse...

We have told you again and again, there is no law which is not in any culture... Quote the Bible, it is in Quran. Quote Kyuk, you find it in Kale. Quote any culture... I'm talking of death sentence, its punishment is universal.

Even salutation is universal... Truth is clear from falsehood bro @Nandwa
