On Christams Eve, I saw a woman driving on Uhuru Highway. Mistake number 1. A child of around five years was seated at the front passenger seat (we all know that the seat belt can not hold that size of a child well in the event of accient or hard braking). Kids from 0-6 years belong in specially designed car seats and at the back seat. That's why child locks are only found on the rear doors.

It always beats me how a both parents (i can forgive one parent in a car because may be she/he is not normal) can allow a child to stand and play at the dashboard while driving on the highway..... how? If anything happens, that child will be the first to hit the tarmac through the window! what love is that they are trying to show? It shows more of an irresponsible than a "loving" parent.

Even if the family does not have a special child seat, then let the person holding the child sit at the back! Some parents even allow their 4 year olds to play at the front seat while the mother is tucked in neatly at the back seat.... ridiculous!

There are insane parents who drive with kids on their lap . In case of an emergency the kid acts as an air bagShame on you

They even need to change the writings on the vehicles from If Carelessly driven to If Madly Driven because seeing a carelessly driven car is a normality nowadays!

I wonder what this experience means.Do you mean experience of what other drivers will do at any given time?I believe that every day presents a new challenge and yesterdays events will not count today.Probably the experience we are discussing is knowing how deep that pothole is, where the pothole is and the next bump.

Every day we encounter many monkeys and no monkey is the same. One useful rule I have found is to give way and be courteous to an extent of default, it doesnt hurt.

I thought I had seen lots of examples of matatu madness on our roads but even this has me pausing. Matatu drivers crossing fast moving traffic, case in point is the ojijo road/forest road construction site under the new bridge as one crosses into Ojijo Rd. There is traffic coming down from museum hill and common sense dictates one waits, but no, matatu drivers just cross, I Pray each of the 3-4 times I have seen this. Lord watch over us.

What irks me most is guys who drive with full lights and even when you indicate to them to dim the same they don't bother. I am thinking of installing some high beam lights that I will switch on when they don't dim their lights to teach them a lesson but then again I it will just make me another "monkey".

I see this even on a fully lit Thika Superhighway.

Happened in China, the car was a Nissan. Here's the link to the full story.
