What happening to African football? This tournament has lost its glamour and apparently has the lowest viewing ever??

Viewership has shifted to Europe. Back in the day AFCON, world cup and the local leagues were big things to us. Then, KBC used to air all that for free. I came learn a lot about European football in early 2000`s.

I didn't even know Afcon was on...just saw some games on my odds while investing in sportspesa...what a fate?

Back in the days these thing was advertised proper in both radio and print media...and we would get pictired of player's from the seals of coke. ..we called them "pasti"...

I remember very the 1992 nations cup held in Dakar Senegal...we would buy t-shirts a month before the games...and select our teams before the game started.

I also think it was a mistake to move it from even years to odd years. ..this happened in circa 2013.

Now we know more about the EPL table than AFCON

Tunisia robbed a clean goal. I thought goal line technology had been adopted for major tournaments!

I don't think its about the craze for european football, hata in the 90's there was free european football, the epl and the bundesliga on kbc.
caf has been moving the nations cup, more to the pay tv side, making it harder for national broadcasters to air the same, plus this thing of having afcon ya local players, the whole thing is just confusing, every year kuna some afcon of sorts.
