Any place that mass produces chicken has to use antibiotics and hormones on the livestock.

If you must indulge in fast food, moderation is your best friend.

All broiler chicken even here in kenya have a specific vaccination/medication programme that farmers are required to adhere to (against gumboro, Newcastle disease etc). Which means all chicken on sale have been raised using "antibiotics". If you want drug free chicken, then go kienyeji chicken.

And I doubt if burger king kenya raise the chicken they sell since many franchises buy from Kenchick among others.

oh man!! that disease is lethal! and it's true. I personally raised chicken and you need to have them vaccinated and given medicine often - if you mess up your whole flock goes in a matter of a few days. after downing like sijui gunia ngapi za feeds. let me ask - doesn't the feeds attenuate or disassociate under the heat of cooking?

Antibiotics DO NOT KILL VIRUSES AND OTHER FLUS. they are used to kill bacteria. The debate in the US is that, the chickens have been fed on so much antibiotics which is 1. killing the good bacteria in humans 2. Making humans resistant to the common antibiotics mostly prescribed by docs.

Are antibiotics essential, yes to kill bad bacteria in chickens. Is there any other way of doing the same, yes by using probiotics instead, keeping hatcheries clean, feeding chicken with more plant based foods. And others I might not be aware of. Read more online

Are there probiotics in Kenya....highly unlikely, but again, I may not know. Probiotics are very beneficial to humans too. If you have a sickly child--homa homa or stuff like eczema ask your doc if he's heard of any . Ofcourse, its good to uliza google and get info from reputable sources. But....ask your doc.

When I use the term "antibiotics", I am speaking in general terms about the drugs used to treat diseases since this is a general forum and not a veterinary forum. That is why I put the word antibiotics in quotes. And yes I know diseases are caused by different kinds of microorganisms eg bacteria, fungi, viruses, protozoa, rickettsia, archaea etc and the drugs used to deal with all these kinds of microorganisms differ.

So why the notion that antibiotics only kill bacteria?
The definition states "microorganism", which include bacterium, virus, or fungus etc!
