Quote:
Performance:
Group Revenue up 8%
Revenue growth driven by Uganda ops and new KE stores at THE Hub and Garden City

Net Operating Margin: 48% thanks to supply chain efficiencies, better inventory management, favourable forex (SA Rand to Ksh)

Expenses up massive 19%
Expenses driven by development of 6 new stores in Kenya and Uganda, escalating rents

Higher finance costs due to high bank interest rates smile
However, "debt has subsequently been paid down"
Pesa Nane plans to be shilingi when he grows up.

Tough business for them. In tough economic times "fashion" always takes a hit.
Time is money, so money is time. Money saved is time gained in reverse! Money stores your life’s energy. You expend your energy, get paid money, and store that money for a future purchase made in a currency.

Deacons EA limited is the NSE listed company and had a stake in Woolworths Kenya Proprietary LTD. The 49% Woolworths (K) stake was sold of to Woolworths Mauritius in December 2015

Deacons used to own Woolworths but the South Africans bought full stake in Woolworths. Now they are competitors
