Rms just want some sales staff to assist in reaching out to politicians in every county for adverts in the run up to elections in the month of August.
The are rumours they will be paid a retainer of 10k plus uknown commission per month. I think they want to use the 1 k registration fee to cover recruitment costs. The morality about it,I am not sure. Surely RMS are not in this for charity.

Sales staff to reach out to politicians? What do you eat for breakfast?

Boss. ..This is called common sense.

Politicians have their own media units that reach out to media stations. Those interviews/discussions you see on tv/radio are not by accident. They are organized. Now explain to me like you'd explain to a 2yr old, what would the sales person be selling to politicians? What for example will they sell to me as an aspiring MCA?

RMG has the widest venacular outreach in Kenya. Think outside the norms for media boss.

Just tell me what the salesman will be selling to me as a MCA. Because as a person intending to run I know where the local office is and how i can buy ads. what else madam

They will sell you "airtime/slot" for you to interact with the voters in one of the local vernacular station. And with thousands aspiring to become mcas, mps, governors, senators the local stations provide an excellent medium to interact with voters and will be a beehive of activity. So if RMS charges 40k per session for an aspirant to appear on radio and explain his vision, or for the station to expound on his vision the way Maina Kageni does for PRC tupulotis in his show, then they will make billions.

So why does EABL or banks employ salesmen when every bar owner and businessman knows where the brewery and bank is?

I guess you did not understand. I said that as an aspiring MCA i know where my local RMS office is and how I can get that "airtime". After enough research, i know when i can get the perfect time to advertise(b4 news and in between and whenever there's a popular programming) I am assuming time will not extend past 24hrs a day so...what will the sales person be selling to me? Come on Wazuans.....

I see you have edited your post.

EABL has sales people to urge you to drink more or try a new taste.

Banks has sales guys to sell you more loans and products.

RMS? What slots? Assume i take/book all the 9:15 slots on Inooro for the 8months that are approaching, what else will they sell?

Why does EABL need salesmen when everyone knows where the brewery and distributor is?

@Murchr I thought you have been advocating for NMG and group to think outside the box, RMS has. Nominations tickets , thorough to winning, this is a good idea regardless.

Mimi nataka unioneshe how good an idea it is.

As an MCA of Mweiga, Kieni.

1. I know where I can buy airtime slots at peaktimes when everyone in my village is watching news and listening to the various favorite programs. Infact I have PR guys who know what the village guys are talking about and what the hot topics are. they have already created a rapport with the various tv/radio presenters such that i am the one answering and discussion those important matters online.

Assuming that I buy slots just before news, in btn and after news in january, what else will Mr. sales man sell to me?

2. My other assumption is that sales people will not have the confidence to approach me and my bigger than life persona....remember I have like 10 bodyguards and several cars in my motorcade making sure I look important .
3. Maybe what I dont know is if RMS is planning to be a politics only station.

I guess thos will be their agents on the ground just like Ekwity agencies outside your house.

Some wards are far flung from where the office is so they need guys to go mashinani to gather them.

It will be a busy moment and they want to decongest their offices.

Kazi ya hawa salesmen will be to be the ear on the ground and identify any mca, MPig, senator, governor etc aspirants and sell the "advertisement package" to them. Instead of waiting for the aspirants to walk to your office, why not be proactive and contact them and promote the advertisement package to them before they go to rival broadcasting stations? That is what any brilliant marketing manager would do. And we are dealing with thousands of aspirants who desperately need publicity here. If EABL salesmen have to constantly remind me to take my usual tusker why shouldnt MAC aspirants be approached and be informed about advertising opportunities that will help their campaign?

Also why do you assume that you are the only Mca aspirant in the country/county and thus you can chose when and how to advertise on RMS stations?

Laughable. During campaign times all media is booked, it doesnt matter if you have sales men peddling packages. What matters is the delivery. I would be more impressed if they were hiring people who would be able to deliver content effectively

Now this is a well thought out argument
