To be launched by Ohuru on Wednesday. How true is it that it will cost 1.3m? That will be great since a 8yr old japanese jalopy Premio is going for 1.7m.

Someone tell Uhuru and Rotich they need to lower taxes on locally assembled vehicles. This will create jobs and take care of environment since eight year old jalopies will not be as attractive.

How much does taxation take up, on the locally made/assembled cars, the mobius was going for just over 1M, and the Mobius 2 might be much more higher - we wait for how much the local vivo will be priced at

The New Mobius II seems more expensive...

from the sketch it looks more robust than the current model, but it still a sketch the real thing might vary greatly, but if the mobius guys are not careful the vivo guys will steal the thunder.

Is it sheer co-incidence or is Uhuru actually brokering deals to attract these investor?

Peugeot is also shopping around for an assembly company. The next round of police and government vehicle leases should be restricted to companies and brands that are assembled locally

There is something called value for money... You just don't go local because it's assembled locally!

Thanks to know. I still harbour the dream for a Tesla but that's for another day....smile

Anyway, we don't care about our environment and we are happy spending our dollars on petroleum and it's irritants.Sad . In Brazil, the gaament threw in a tax break for the manufacture of ethanol blend consuming cars (E80s) and also zero rated the same. The result? Car manufacturing giants Chrysler and Ford came calling and set up shop. Brazil spares itself the pain of spending on petrol while encouraging farmers to produce more cane hence a thriving ethanol economy. Simple!

Seems I talked too soon for KPA..
http://www.the-star.co.k...-bank-accounts_c1475849

Modern Holdings cleared six containers with waivers from KRA and KPA but 15 containers were delayed and their contents valued at Sh60 million went bad.

Justice Otieno found in favour of Modern Holdings and awarded them Sh890 million, 14 times the value of the consignment. The additional Sh1 billion constituted interest and loss of business.

I second guka. Many RV people have realized the cunningness behind him. Mortgaging whole community to vote against constitution, fighting to death in 2002 insisting KANU ni baba na mama... despite all what this monster regime did (KCC, KMC, Coffee, railway, roads, public lands, bypasses etc). But see the people now, they can sell their milk to educate their children, Maasai and Northern communities can sell their cattle, coffee is back, roads are.... In short, I don't think people need chameleons. Being a hustler, he's better placed as minister or something.

My friend it's not hatred about individuals. All I know is some of these guys:
- their government run down Kenya Railways
they filled the roads with their lorries
their lorries damaged the roads
- they killed KCC
then imported powder milk from China and SA
mixed it with water and sell it in the shelves
how would dairy farmers survive
- they killed KMC
how would people in semi-arid areas Like Maasais and Northern Kenya survive?
- they run down the roads
then promoted tourists chartering planes from Wilson Airport
whose planes are those?
- they killed coffee farming
farmers were uprooting coffee in Central Province
- their friends used to get briefcases fulled of cash from State House before the embark on trip to 'see' (read bribe) the 'people'
