If he's been able to encourage and empower his flock to attain wealth to a level where they feel nothing buying or willing to buy him a Range or jet, what's wrong with that? Do we now have to tell people what to do with their money? I've been to weddings where parents buy their children houses and cars, I have a problem with that but again I wonder, why is it my problem?

First, it is not his money. The congregants are just brainwashed poor souls. Secondly,if you are worried about your problems only then you should skip this thread and many others.

Now,even our deep pocketed politicians rarely buy jets and prefer choppers. Kiuna is probably imitating the Nigerian Pastors who buy jets to travel across West Africa.

I thought the purpose of the thread is to get objective opinions and not just agreeable ones?

Anyway, how did you conclude that they are brainwashed? Logic tells me that to even think of buying a private jet for the pastor, the congregation must have quite a few millionaires within. Logic also tells me that these are very hard people to brainwash. Millionaires are the hardest people to con.
Anyway, all I'm saying is that I see nothing wrong with it. Many respected pastors own private jets. I don't know what he preaches, I'm from the old school churches, but it's for his congregate to decide as long as it's lawfully ok.

They still get conned through their disgruntled wives who burn through their wealth to spite them for chasing tuchungwa's

Boss, your wife can never con or steal from you. You gave her the keys to the safe the minute you said I do. Your work is to consistently make more than she can burn and vice a versa.

BBI will solve it

I meant the pastor is still conning you indirectly through your wife

Kweli, sipendi ku gossip, but it's true these days we also have many atheist running churches, it's a good business, the Truth may very well be this "bad" pastors are actually ATHEIST. Why not? NO JOKES, i actually believe this. Haven't you noticed there is easy money to be made from silly sheep? Do you as an atheist have 'ethics' in matters Christ and making money, call it entertainment? " Assume the Pastor owns a "club" with no alcohol and no sex (except for quite a few naughty pastors who eat the flock, actually adulterers) with willing customers who want to simply hear the song Njseo, Njeso over and over again, and be sprayed with doom on their faces, to "cheat themselves" there is God. Indeed that is the most likely position, according to you, and who am i to know any different? Some are clear cut cartels of murderers and crooks. If you really believed in God, would you do this? Would one who believes dare drop their standards to levels which even atheist start questioning whether their behavior is "Christ like". I agree, Njeso was a 'real hustler', hardworking, a carpenter, a msomi, a fisherman, farmer, honest (except for the "miracles"- of which i coincidentally believe), e.t.c But as long as they say njeso, njeso, that one is a high value name worth much more than 2 billion kes and they know it, there is money to be made in using that name, what's more, njeso gave people permission to use his name! I heard the other Atheist on t.v ask Why is the Church so divided? It is divided by LIES, na pesa pia, na ujinga of course, na uwongo, they don't believe in "god". So What is the TRUTH? Are these guys really ATHEIST or they paradoxically believe in "god"? I think so ama d'oh! , actually we might all be atheist already, for as you say, there is no "god" sio?.

We are all atheists, I just believe in one less god than all the religious people. Same way Muslims don't believe in Jesus and Christians don't believe in Muhammad is the same way I don't believe in both.

P.S. Nobody is jealous of these conmen. Aish. Jealous of what now? Some of us are not that vain. I just feel bad for the people who tithed and contributed their hard earned money only for this guy to parlay it into a jet. Some people have to choose between food and church offering and this is what happens to their "choice". That's what's sad.

I think NMG are now crossing the line here.

http://nairobinews.natio...joined-cult-not-church/

This one is full of insults and outright attack on a pastor and congregation who can't defend themselves.

Kwamchetchi Makhoha or Macharia Gaitho could have done a beautiful satirical piece that would have delivered the message in a mature way.

And finally, who is this girl sl#%&%ng with because clearly she doesn't owe her column to talent.

You are too obsessed with your atheism.... I think it addresses some kind of a complex you suffer from.....maybe an inferiority complex or another worse complex. Talking about your atheism and the illusion that you've made it in life (despite your 'godlessness') because you've a car and a few assets give you quite a "high" and you just can't stop hammering it on, how people are foolish to believe in God.

This is just one religious organization and it does not represent the many people who believe in God. Does it occur to you that this pastor is selling something to his followers? There is a willing seller willing buyer situation in this setup just like that one in safaricom where very poor people must buy airtime and the CEO earns Kshs 10 million per month. Aren't we in a capitalistic environment and just like any other organization, the pastor produces sermons, books, etc which he sells to his followers? The followers must be getting some kind of fulfillment from his performance and that is the reason they continue giving funds there. Why then just take this one situation to show off AGAIN your great "intelligence" purportedly from your atheism and to demonstrate how everyone who is a person of faith is foolish when compared to yourself and other atheists?

I recently asked you to discuss the life and principles of atheism without looking down or insulting the Faiths of other people. Can you?

Religions and imaginary gods are some of the most detrimental things to ever happen to humanity. The number of people that have lost lives in the name of religion and gods is staggering. Why do we need something that elicits so much hate amongst us? But people are too afraid to speak out about something that they deep down know is wrong so they just sit back and act like it's not their problem. It is everybody's problem.

How beautiful would this world be if people were good to each other just because it's the right thing to do and not because a stupid books tells them to? How great would it be for people to have morals and values without expecting a fictional pass into an imaginary heaven in return? Religions are really really horrible. Maybe decades from now when people become more civilized, religions and gods will be a thing of the past. We are heading in the right direction, number of atheists and non believers is growing and people are becoming more enlightened about this fraud.

There are some people who contributed money towards Kiuna's jet that will not have breakfast this morning. Many don't even have fare to board a Matatu while "mum and dad" are feasting on continental breakfast in "their" jet heading to some exotic island. If that doesn't make you angry then you have no conscience. We have to stand up and defend the weak in our society. Am sure these same people who contributed their hard earned money cannot be allowed to even step foot into that jet. They would probably be hog tied and thrown out if they did as much as just touch the jet. Shoot, they might even have their asses thoroughly kicked by security.

If you see a bully on the playground picking on and repeatedly abusing a weak defenseless kid, you don't pour scorn and blame the poor victim for not being able to defend himself, you tell the bully to knock it off. Somebody has to defend the weak. We can't let these people take advantage of our relatives like that.

P.S. This is personal to me because I have a relative who is a member of that church. These pastors are no different than the Bernie Madoffs. They deserve to be in jail.

Please stop the arrogance ....you have a problem, you need to see a shrink ..... Your seeing everything in terms of your atheism has become too much. I've been here over the years I have tolerated your nonsense but now you've gone overboard.

Can you first talk to your mum or grandma first and convince them to be atheists like you? Though you may think you are more intelligent than them, they have seen life , .....they've been here much longer than you. Can you do that then come over here and tell us more about your money and intelligence?

Is it possible for humans to know what's moral or ethical without bias to a frame of reference?

And how can a frame of reference be, without a book/books?

It's on such grounds that atheism must equate itself to religion.

But my main point is simple: If Kiuna has 'conned' anyone, then it's not possible to prove that it's because of religion per se, and not because of how capital works.

Why don't the atheists speak against capitalism which fleeces people out of their souls? The answer is simple, atheism speaks the language of capital and that's why it can't see where the problem lies.

The good thing about @Hambuglar and his converts is that they keep on demonstrating time and again how uncritical their thinking can get and how 'normal' they are even when they profess greater intelligence.

They seem to have forgotten that atheism itself is older than some religions like Christianity. And most of these expressions of atheism were and have been religious.

Can you?

You must be confusing me with somebody who cares about your willing buyers and willing sellers crap. 😂😂😂😂

This one will get a stroke trying to fight me on every thread. Somebody tell her to sit down and shut up before she bursts an artery. She is even talking about my assets. Lol.

My dear, I have been talking shit about religion and imaginary gods for years. You are wasting your time trying to battle me. I am a very arrogant dude when it comes to matters religion na utachoka uwachane na Mimi very soon. Read the room, people here don't engage me anymore, they let me be coz they know it's a losing battle. Lol.

The fool says there's no God because he's too simplistic.

Never argue with a fool because ...

Some atheists are too simplistic, therfore arguing with them...

I have looked at his threads and arguments to see the depth of his intelligence. There is nothing to show anything above average intelligence there....in fact I doubt he can get a score of anything above 80 in the IQ ranking based purely on his arguments here. He cannot hold a candle to people like Masukuma, Maka, Tycho, Obi, Angelica, etc who bring well thought out arguments here. Yet he has to keep reminding everyone how intelligent he is and how he has employed some religious fools. He needs help.
