@ProverB by the time the fundamentals are confirmed - the share price will likely have moved to reflect the confirmed value. haha.

Fundamentals of this stock are good - growing economy, increasing number of vehicles, P/E value of less than 10, valuable assets - locations of stations, control of oil marketing, can pass additional costs to consumers, etc.

@ProverB is correct... There was a time Total decided to lose sales to increase Profit Margins... Why? Coz the risk was too great of those extra sales...

Higher prices (due to high INPUT costs) does not mean higher profits...

That said... I think KK will increase market share... and profits from its regional subsidiaries will be much better...

What will stop Kenol/Kobil reserving the awarded/settlement cash (from KPC) and later using it to buy shares in KPC either before or after KPC IPO? That way shareholders will reap the benefits of dominant positions in the distribution network and the retail market at the same time!

This is a complex transaction... The KPC decision has been appealed by KPC...

@VVS - Agreed transaction will be complex but very lucrative. KPC's appeal is bound to fail.

Saw that today morning from NSE. I'm sure it will be in the news today. So let's wait and see what happens until end of this month.

It's a proposed split that will be voted on by the shareholders on May 20th. I expect it to pass.

Anyway, it will definitely increase supply of these shares ... anyone's guess on the price movement. Still think this is a good company.

@guru, you can't win all the time. I averaged down to 68 from 115. It however doesn't seem to correlate with Total where I bought at 31, still stuck in that neighbourhood.

I think you can still get in even now.... It's still got another 40 bob or so to go.....at 140, it would be at a fwd pe of 10 and a current/trailing pe of 15 which is it's correct value. I got in at 46, nice chunk

I looked at its valuation differently. The cum price before the split announcement was 84.50, ex price would have been 81, meaning the newly split share would have been 8.10, placing it in the league of Orchards and Paka. Now how many people would have wanted to buy it at that price? I reckon the whole market thereby driving up the price to the 20 region. I reckon the stock is a bargain till 200.

Bought at 55,64,71 and 84 purely on basis of low PE,will wait for AGM before making my next move. And Total does give quartely financials, which should give an indication of how the sector is doing.
