I was surprised to read that Tilapia and nile perch were introduced into Lake Victoria just recently in the 1950s. So what fish were people eating hapo mbeleni?

So what fish were people eating hapo mbeleni? the way people swear by it is as if generations and generations of people have been eating it. Tilapia is a farmed species . Nile Perch as well. Personally I prefer Ocean fish to Fresh water species. Red Herring e.t.c. I don't really find Tuna all that savory but I just love the kingklip! it's ugly when you look at it but the flesh is delicious. All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!

The Trouts grown in ponds on the slopes of Mt. Kenya are very watery and have very weak flesh...you need to cook them under very low heat and dry the excess water well before eating. But the sea-fish like Bass are very yummy. Portfolio: Sold You know you've made it when you get a parking space for your yatcht.
