Nyumbani was started in 1992 (24 years ago) to take care of children who had been born with HIV. Does anybody know of any long term study of those children? I would be particularly interested in the study of the group of first 4 years (20 years later):

How many have survived?
What is their health status?
Are they still taking medication?
Do they still have the virus?

I think these are sensitive questions that no statistician is willing to share publicly especially on issues about HEALTH-HIPPA laws (HIV)and children in particular.a consent is necessary...

I thought Nyumbani village is a catholic church centre for children from poor background orphaned by their parents as a result of Hiv/Aids. That is why they host those children together with their guardian cucu's. If we are talking of the same thing, why not visit their HQ at Karen near The Hub, or go to their big centre at Kwa Vonza in Kitui for that info?

I once volunteered there, cleaned their dorms, played with them, fed and talked with them - have always had an interest in the home.
@Kusadikika, those are valid qstns any researcher would want to know, but sheria za watoto na privacy...
