*Safaricom market share down by 0.4% to 65.2%
*Orange Kenya up 0.7% to 13.2%
*Airtel Kenya Down 0.9% to 16.6%

Safaricom 25.9 million subscribers
Airtel Kenya 6.5 million
Orange Kenya 5.2 million
Equitel 2 Million

Since most of them are duplicates, eg me I have a number registered in Safaricom and Equitel, it all depends on which line is the most active. Safaricom and airtel definitely command over 90% of the money spent on these lines.

There's a metric known as average revenue per customer. and profitablity per customer.
Equitel should be leading in that one.

I guess those calling for 14/- gave up.

My HY17 estimates:

Revenue - 110-112Bn
EBT - 44BN

**These estimates are purely my imaginations**

Equitel should be leading in that one.

Equitel will only lead due to the mammoth size of Safaricom, over 26 million active sim cards. Some of them are modem sim cards while are rarely used. But my pick will still be safaricom in profitablity per customer and revenue per customer. Equitel should just be at the 1bn mark in interest income assuming 3bn a month in outstanding loans. Voice calls and SMS i have no idea but it cant be that huge since the non-interest income on their results hasn't changed much since Equitel. My guest for the current ARPU in Equitel on a yearly basis is 500-1500. Compare that with safaricom 177bn from 25m customers, should be around 7000. Equitel cannot even compete with Okoa Jahazi product alone in terms of revenue and profits.

Safaricom has left a cloud of dust in its wake. It's never coming back unless under extraordinary circumstances.

For now it is not easy to get back to 12bob but remember one cardinal principle in the stock market-anything is possible.
