streetwise wrote:Is there negotiation even for mobile loans, eeeesh !!!! Yes!!! You negotiate with very sophisticated and most importantly software. On a serious note, the softwares being used to enable mobile banking are very expensive and cannot be paid for by offering loans at 1.x% per month!!! Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Glad the cash cow is back up and running 2.66% per month. Still cheap money for those who use the facility. I can imagine a mama mboga or any other trader who takes a loan of 10,000/= and has to pay an interest of only 266/= at the end of the month! He/She will make the interest back in half a day. The rest of the month they will be working for themselves!!! And they can take another loan the next month if they wish!!! Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Still way cheap considering the previous prevailing rates. And the dance continues. Banks will be forced to balance lending to govt vs lending to the people. http://www.nation.co.ke/...98402-e0y6cqz/index.htmlThey must find it difficult....... those who have taken authority as the truth, rather than truth as the authority. -G. Massey.

I've been monitoring all the rate cap headlines pre and post signing. The doom headlines have taken over and the negativity meter reads 100%. Crazy extreme levels! Very fertile grounds for a contrarian play.
From my experience this is a sure bet that the market will flip very sharply against the crowd! $15/barrel oil... The commodities lehman moment arrives as well as Sovereign debt volcano!

From my experience this is a sure bet that the market will flip very sharply against the crowd! Seems like the Safcom Airtel script getting replayed all over again. Just when everybody expected Saf to be killed by low Airtel rates, the reverse happened and like they say, the rest is history. Time is money, so money is time. Money saved is time gained in reverse! Money stores your life’s energy. You expend your energy, get paid money, and store that money for a future purchase made in a currency.

Tier 1s especially since most funds are at NIL.. The 70% on CBR cap applies to pretty little of bank funding.. HF 90,000 ABP 3.83; KQ 414,100 ABP 7.92; MTN 23,800 ABP 6.45

The peculiar kenyans will be milked dry due to their style of borrowing. The best borrowing would be to borrow at once say (12 x 10,000) at 16.5% pa insteand of piecemeal monthly takes...but what do I know? In fact I am now confused.
