motor Insurance claim woes

Wazuans, I have an ongoing issue with an Insurance company - Phoenix - brokered by Prime Mover.
My jalopy had an accident over a month ago and I was advised to take it to a garage by the broker. Its over a month now and these guys haven't authorized the repairs. Think there is an issue between Phoenix and Prime Mover.(which in non of my business). Repairs need upwards of 250K so I cant fund from my pocket. The car was comprehensively insured.

I have reported them to IRA but they are yet to act on the regulators instructions. Am so inconvenienced. My questions are;

1. If they don't authorize the repairs, what can I do, what are my feasible options? Repairing myself is the last option.

2. Am considering suing them, anybody with prior experience in such cases? How can they end up?

3. How much power does the regulator have or how far can IRA go in terms of pushing them to act? Can the Insurance co. defy an order from their Regulator?

4. Any one with e-mails for the right people that I can write for things to move? 'I don't know people' at both IRA and Phoenix. I am just using their customer service

Why insure with phoenix in the first place and I thought prime mover is an earth machine?....Don't they give you a courtesy car?

I think for the time being is to keep chasing the prime mover..stop following up with the insurance company because that the work of a broker!

I have made several frustrating trips to Prime Mover and its just endless promises. I was given the Phoenix option by a guy whom I have known and used for like 6yrs for other cars n Insurance companies. He has now also gone MIA on me. He doesn't even pick/return my calls. Some of my former employers cars are insured by Phoenix.

There is no courtesy car. I have dandiad someone's car but I need this sorted ASAP.

Now, that is really frustrating and with it a lesson. Avoid brokers!! For now, call any of the following numbers and put your case through. Insist on a one to one meeting with whoever picks the phone, then you can actually go there (Longonot road hapo Upper Hill). You should also talk to your lawyer. There is a limit to how far you can stay without your jalopy and any period above that ought to be compensated on a daily rate. Of course other Insurances such as Orient will give you a cover car as soon as you are in trouble.

I already did this and am following up with an officer there. What I was wondering is, I was there(IRA) when the call to Phoenix was made and it appeared like they were urging the Insurance to authorize the repairs. It didn't come out as an order/ultimatum. Reason I asked what powers the regulator has in pushing the Insurance Co. to act. I'll give them till end month, if they don't act, ill sue them.

Got this sorted, thanks a lot to IRA. Regulation/laws ni muhimu sana sana. There was no way I was going to chuck 300k for repairs and had insured the jalopy comprehensively. I also didn't want courts, I wasn't sure of the outcome, and would have rather used the legal fees to do the repairs. Picking it today, albeit after 2 months, but got repairs nicely done.
