I usually don't do this but if you have some extra cash that you don't mind setting aside (meaning you're not gonna lose sleep over it) buy some KQ shares and let it sit for a while. I'm not getting paid to say this nor I'm I courting the directors. KQ is my toy, I want to see what it's capable of, at todays price of 3.90 I would acquire a million if I had it, but I'll just acquire as much as I can. What's your toy? Knowledge is contagious...Infect truth!

KQ's Auditor: "Without qualifying our opinion, we draw attention to Note 2(e) in the consolidated financial statements which indicate that the Group incurred a net loss of KShs 26,225 million during the year ended 31 March 2016 (2015 – Net loss of KShs 25,743 million) and, as of that date, the Group’s current liabilities exceeded its current assets by KShs 43,766 million (2015 – KShs 39,588 million) and the Group’s total liabilities exceed its total assets by KShs 35,667 million (2015 - KShs 5,963 million). These conditions along with other matters as set forth in Note 2(e), indicate the existence of a material uncertainty that may cast doubt about the Group’s ability to continue as a going concern." I wouldn't read too much into that sentence. Without getting into too much detail for this forum, that is a boilerplate Emphasis of Matter paragraph as required by IAS 570 for the auditor to use a Going Concern assumption without giving a qualified or adverse opinion. It means the auditor is satisfied with the note disclosure. It does not imply a conclusion as to the future of the company. It's just an auditing rule. That said, I personally have no shares in KQ nor do I plan to acquire any. Speculators may or may not do well with KQ, but as a long-term investor, I don't want to go anywhere near it!
