@Obiero if I follow the results of Q2 and project to Q3 the figures for KCB is understated and Equity bank overstated. In Q1 Equity bank did 7.3bn and KCB 6.6bn pretax profit In Q2 Equity bank did 7bn and KCB 8.5bn That brought half year results to 14.2bn for Equity bank and 15.1bn for KCB. I'm wondering how in Q3 Equity will do 7.4bn and KCB 6.5bn; something is amiss. In my predictions I see Equity in 9 months posting 21bn and KCB 22.4bn. NB:Interest rates cap was applicable for 16 days out of 92 Wealth is built through a relatively simple equation Wealth=Income + Investments - Lifestyle

DTB has a large (vs other KE banks) exposure to ex-Kenya business. Ugandan MPigs want rate caps but the BoU governor is against lending caps. He made a good point when he said while the "Monetary Policy Rate" is 14%, GoU is borrowing at 17%. His argument is that banks would rather lend to GoU than the "people" at 17%. The solution he said is that GoU reduces expenditure and subsequently reduces borrowing. House of Cards these economies. In Kenya, there has been a slowdown of uptake of credit by the private sector vs GoK. At some point, something will give. Will it be the KES? Greedy when others are fearful. @VVS kenya shilling will give in and CBK may have to raise CBK rate to protect it and avoid further depreciation. Lending interest rates will then go up Wealth is built through a relatively simple equation Wealth=Income + Investments - Lifestyle

@spikes Read my statement clearly. I have said CBK will then raise the CBK rate which is the rate for pricing loans. For example if CBK rate goes to 14% just know banks will lend you at 18% I.e 14+4 Wealth is built through a relatively simple equation Wealth=Income + Investments - Lifestyle
