I once asked a question... Why don't we eat vultures? Who here knows a person that has eaten a vulture? or a monkey? The reason we don't eat vultures is that we were socialized into "not eating vultures". No one knows if vulture meat is tasty or not - coz we all agreed not to eat it!

You are wrong. Our ancestors must have eaten them and ended up sick or dead, and therefore learned to avoid them. Infact, "data" shows that vultures contain bacteria that are harmful to humans and many other animals. They can also transmit deadly bacteria eg anthrax from the dead animals they eat to humans if humans were to eat them.

Our ancestors never told us not to eat vultures coz "vultures contain bacteria that are harmful to humans and many other animals." nor did they tell us that some of them ate them (vultures) and ended up sick or dead - right? We were told DON'T EAT VULTURES <-- This is what happened? Right? We are guessing now that "Our ancestors must have eaten them and ended up sick or dead" <-- it's a good guess but a guess non the same. I gave the example of the pufferfish that contains tetrodotoxin is deadly to humans, up to 1,200 times more poisonous than cyanide. There is enough toxin in one pufferfish to kill 30 adult humans, and there is no known antidote BUT people still eat it! Same with Mushrooms.. think about the testing process of deciding which mushrooms were poisonous and which were not Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly .

How did they know where to eat, did their ancestors tell them? Or did they tell them that they ate somewhere of pufferfish and ended up sick or dead? Or they just told them DON'T EAT THOSE PARTS <-- This is what happened? Right?

Of course someone died... or a huge number died (perhaps like those who ate Vultures) but that did not stop them. The polished it, same case with Mushrooms and people die often from Pufferfish (a constant reminder that it's poisonous). i.e. the Cold water shower is still with us. I think the same thing must have happened in the middle east with pigs... they were haramishwad for some reason and i suspect that the reason is not valid these days.

you seem lost... I said of course people died and still die from Pufferfish eating (unlike vulture eating). their experimentation is what kills them. in the attached story you can see
Quote:
the men asked to eat a banned, toxic part of the fish - which the most foolhardy fugu aficionados are said to enjoy for the tingling it produces on the lips. The tingling is only the first symptom of tetrodotoxin poisoning, and is seen as part of the thrill for lovers of the fish.
....
Government figures show 30 to 50 people are hospitalised every year, with a few of those cases leading to death.

this experimentation is what separates Fugu eaters from Vulture eaters...(or none eaters).

Pigs raised in unsanitary conditions are major hosts/carriers of tape worms and these worms can migrate to human brains after consumption of pork causing "madness" thus association of pigs with mademoni in religion during those days when scientific knowledge was deficient. Thus people might have eaten pork and gone mad and thus pigs were viewed as unclean (due to their foraging habits) and demon possessed and thus their consumption banned by Jews and Muslims.

I don't think the phenomenon is universal - the metaphor is meant to make you examine what it is in your life that you have accepted and even enforced without knowing why!!

PORK lovers:

This is a piece of raw pork. Those white spots are tapeworm. Pigs are among the most unhygienic animals because they don't sweat. So they never detox the toxins which accumulate in their body. Whatever they eat which is anything including faeces, you eat.

@mavegs, I do not understand what you have said here, do you mind explaining it? d'oh! d'oh!

Peopĺe eat pufferfish.... yet it's poisonous - they just know where to eat.

Pigs raised in unsanitary conditions are major hosts/carriers of tape worms and these worms can migrate to human brains after consumption of pork causing "madness" thus association of pigs with mademoni in religion during those days when scientific knowledge was deficient. Thus people might have eaten pork and gone mad and thus pigs were viewed as unclean (due to their foraging habits) and demon possessed and thus their consumption banned by Jews and Muslims.

correct!!... so in a manner of speaking the cold shower was the tapeworms and madness. that condition is no longer valid but WERE ARE ENFORCING the HARAM uniformly (at least some people are).

PORK lovers:

This is a piece of raw pork. Those white spots are tapeworm. Pigs are among the most unhygienic animals because they don't sweat. So they never detox the toxins which accumulate in their body. Whatever they eat which is anything including faeces, you eat.

cured Pork is great!! Kinda like freerange chicken or free range board... wild things taste great.... just cook them well. That's the reason we invented fire... to kill tapeworms and rat faeces out of our good.

of course... but in advertent eating is possible that is why you need to cook pork. Tinea Solium is killed by Cooking, Freezing for like 5 days or Salting.
