For Centum, Sidian is a small part of their overall business/assets. I think Sidian will be fine but it will have to start targeting customers who can securitize their loans!

Nevertheless, it does hurt to put in 1.2bn and then wham!

Member used to use the strategy of giving small loans at any interest. Now they need another idea , I am sure JM is on a retreat to rethink.

Exotic analysts are just mortals. Mr. market has ways of sorting out himself in a mightier force than hidden agendas of Exotic recommendation.

Memba has an option of strengthening the Equitel although as you can see (http://www.nation.co.ke/business/Equitel-customers-hit-with-high-cash-transfer-fees/996-2845840-u3t62az/index.html ) its going to be quite a big challenge. But on the plus side Equitel is there own product unlike KCB, Coop which depend on a 3rd Party (Safcom).

I don't think they need to abandon loans to the common mwananchi for the big corporates. Probably keep expanding their base to increase the numbers. Kenya still has a large unBanked population, Congo is almost a virgin market.

Do it today! Tomorrow is promise to no-one.

Just saw on Twitter that KCB will not cap rates on mobile loans at 14.5%. So much for helping the common man...

With Equity, they are telling all their customers who want loans to get Equitel lines and apply for loans via Equitel....this way they are able to escape this 14.5% cap.
