@Guru

Thanks 4correction... I shud have said, I would move in just before or at the point where the govt actualizes the reduction of its holding to ABOUT 50% NOT 40%.

East African KPLC story is so amateurishly written yet it was the headline on the first page...

@the deal IMHO it will be the conversion followed by the rights issue then the split... though there might be a possibility that the last two are done at the same time...

but i have one question why would you advise investors to buy the share after the split???
IMHO the share split of such a profitable company which is currently out of reach of most retial investors due to its price will send these rushing for the stock hence leading to a huge rally in the share price...

i think one should wait until after the share conversion as dilution MAY cause the price to fall... but waiting until after the share split may lead to losses...

Conversion, split then rights makes better sense...

The GoK will sell their Rights... so if the Rights are done before the split... the Ordinary Investor might be locked out...

Hmmm... Conspiracy Theory... TransCentury?

@VVS GOK plans to sell their rights to only institutions hence they can carry out the rights issue before the split since these guys have the muscle

Transcentury reduced their holdings in KPLC to about 0.5% of shares. It's tough to say what will happen but this is a profitable company with a great future selling at a discount. Not sure if it will go up or down with the restructuring - watching closely.
