August is considered as a peak period, the ticket prices are high. He is not telling us when was the booking done. Hersi manages a hotel and how much does he charge during the peak season. Jambojet is there to make money. This kind of whining is uncalled for.

Agreed but Hersi has a point. If the rates he quotes are correct then 29k for a one-way economy flight is ridiculous!

Last minute bookings, no mercy at all.

What do you think a guy charged 29K one way is going to say out there?
He will advised another 10 guys against using the "low cost" Jambo Jet...Low cost should try to remain low cost al all cost, even if the booking is made late like how...

All flights were booked by lawyers going for the annual south migration (LSK annual retreat).

JJ made money. The hotels in south coast made money. Why is he complaining? Is the money made from the lawyers inferior to the white man's dollar/pound?

Kq shareholders should not interpret this as good news.
The shuttles have been bought on loans as the company is on negative equity. That means an increase on finance costs which currently stands at 7 bilion.
It also means there will be an increase on long term debts which currently stands at 113 billion.
Worse still, there is the operational deficit of 30 bilion which is serviced by expensive overdrafts and short term borrowings.
Therefore any gain made here will be wiped out by finance costs.
If you talk about seeing a walking corpse somewhere,i will believe you based on kq company.

They will not buy the buses but lease (or outsource) them. I have used "JJ" buses in Mombasa and Eldoret. They are much cheaper than using taxis.

From Castle to MIA was 250/- (or so). A cab would be 1,000/-
From Eld Airport to town was 200/- (or so). A cab would be 1,700/-

The only downside I see is the limited services they offer. The buses should be available every 30-60 mins to/from JKIA.

Yeah, you can see the quality of business decisions being made by Ngunze. This kind of service should be reserved for Jambojet only. Ideally, KQ should have their own complementary limo service for business class pax and not this kind of 'matatu' business idea. Even if the buses are leased it will result in further obligations and complexity in managing the proceeds. They should focus on Cargo operations, a larger capacity freighter coupled with cargo charges review will do a great service for the company.
