Please, what is this??
Track and field has nothing to do with team work but more about the individual.
The only thing that may not work is an individual strategy and not team work.
Each athlete should know the strategy that make them thrive.
Example. We have been used to not having a clear winner in the 5,000 and 10,000 until the last lap.
Ayana knows she cannot thrive in that. The only thing that works for her is to hit it early and determine the race very very early.
All those athletes knew how Ayana runs. If you do not have the stamina to catch her, there is nothing you can do. Any team strategy is just useless in this case.
The person who was hard hit by her pace is Dibaba. If the race was slow, anyone who has been watching athletics know what Dibaba can do in the last lap.
We have to Congratulate Vivia but there was no answer to Ayana. We should not blame anyone.
In this case

The funny thing Vivian is now faster than dibaba and she has never won a race dibaba was in You have to feel for her she has been chasing dibaba for so long and now enters ayana.@Alba is right that Ayana WR is subject to some serious debate she did not even strain considering the number of people she lapped she could have even gone faster
Team kenya strategy was wrong.Aprot started well.Saina was supposed to take over when Aprot tired. This would have allowed Vivian to breakout within 2-3 last laps. But saina was slow to take over from aprot thus allowing Ayana to run away with the gold.
