In assault cases, a complainant is vital, almost indispensable.
Law is however not static - hence I do not dispute that in certain peculiar circumstances law suits may be instituted and concluded even without the victim coming forward to complain.

Koffi didn't get a fair hearing and trial. That's what makes his case a matter of mob justice.

Again, the action of not allowing him to perform in Kenya or even Zambia may be unjust and he should claim damages because the battery incidence doesn't necessarily affect his business contracts.

He was already paid for the Kenya concert. The promoter lost Ksh 5 million. He should sue Koffi.

BTW Koffi is now "out of prison". His Kenyan lawyer says he was not even in prison but was asked to maintain a low profile.
