Very great act by the Government, though why did they wait until outrage poured in.

Surely the most irrelevant story coming out of Kenya today.

Useless is an understatement. We have a governor who slaps every every day but can't see fellas here demanding his arrest. Some will vote for him.

By the way, under what legal authority did the cops arrest him? Who is the complainant.

Idle Kenyans on twitter who keep quiet when school land is grabbed by their masters surely cannot be the complainants in any court.

As far as I can see they were practicing a new move for their new video.

Wish they act that fast on more serious issues that affect common mwanainchi!

Congolese musician Koffi Olomide was Saturday morning deported to Kinshasa, DR Congo after being arrested Friday night. Olomode was sent back to his home country via a Kenya Airways flight that left the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at 11:35am after he spent the night at the JKIA police cell. The flight was scheduled to touch down in Kinshasa shortly after 1pm.

He became a Prohibited Immigrant because his conduct offended public morality contrary to the Section 33 (1) q of the Citizenship and Immigration Act 2011.

what of the other fellow who slapped a policewoman?

More moral bullshit comes out of our state agencies than Trumps haircomb.

The other fellow slapped a woman, in public, kwanza a Kenyan state official.

You can't make this stuff up. The only reason Koffi is in Congo right now is because he did not know people. That's it!!!

For a guy who was preaching let the courts decide here, you are very funny.

What actions are you talking about? All I saw was a guy kicking at something, just as lingala musicians do....I saw no complainant! Did you see one person complain that they were kicked and abused by him? ONE PERSON?

Ama ni twirra? If Kenyan cops were to arrest everyone on twirra, oh boy....

I remember masukuma gave me that lecture on IEBC and I saw my foolishness...And he's been proven right..

This was mob justice.

Just accept you participated in mob justice...For no particular reason..

I would understand you fellows if you did the same kind of shouting for chembech..

Mob Justice in action, in the name of helping.

I still say, if Kofi had been a Kenyan politician, this story would have been dead on arrival. Now the immigration dept can claim they actually work....While we know they allow drug dealers from Nigeria to roam around here impregnating our women.

I was not fooled for a second. It seems you now believe the Kenya police and immigration are moral...

@maka can step in and correct me at any point. our legal regime is one which can be considered as one that gives the executive some discretion in interpreting administrative laws. This means that not everything needs to be forwarded to a judge. It means that the executive can interprete/execute some aspects of the law and if you contest it - you can now go to court. For example, if you get to the airport and they deny you a visa based on some law or regulation. you can accept it or contest it. These are not criminal matters however, coz for assault you need a complainant, a p3 form e.t.c. so immigration executed some aspect of administrative law and if koffi wanted to contest it - he could contest it in court. My understanding is that Koffi was not deported for assault but rather 'conduct offended public morality'.

Since i work on elections I will give an example from there. If you register twice in Kenya and the EMB establishes (internally) that you indeed broke the Elections act - it can remove you from the roll of registered voters without taking you to court. if during inspection you find your name missing and ask they will tell you that they kicked you out coz of breaking aspects of the elections act (or whatever it's called). if you are sure they are being unfair - you can forward the complaint to court.

Being given the honor of being granted a visa to visit any country is a previlege. And your host expects you to behave with utmost respect and decorum when you visit their country. Can you imagine if he had landed at Heathrow or JFK airport and ran amok and started kicking and assaulting people? What would the UK or US authorities have done? I am 100% sure he would have been immediately detained and put on the next flight back to congo forest. Infact those Kenyan policemen who witnessed the crime and did nothing should face the music. They should have immediately arrested him and put him in the cells.

Hata mimi if you were to visit my home and the first thing you do when I open my door is kick your accompanying partner/fellow visitor, I will throw you out and tell you I don't want such ujinga in my home. People should learn some manners before visiting others.

Kenya is not a banana republic.

For the first time I do agree with you

For someone with a visa, shit does happen...They can revoke your visa for being cross eyed

For that there's no fault in gov't...I accept and I'll move on....

Koffi Olomide could have bought a Pepsi and the immigration guy sent him home anyway.

But

Ohhhh boy, let's not kid ourselves here

Let no one on this forum or the internet pretend that they are morally correct.

Those are two different issues

Issue One: Immigration can send you home for coughing
Issue two: Ohhh hell KOT, don't go around here f***ing bragging..The governor of Nairobi bitch slapped a women's rep on TV....He's not been deported to mumias...

Don't clap now...Clap when the Nairobi City Council Askaris who manhandled a crippled woman in her wheel chair are in jail....

Issues...Issues people....No hitting people..Not this nonsense about women. That's the reason Wentangula is confused....Issues...No beating, no slapping, no shooting..............Be f***ing consistent..

And yes harrdre I do support but not as uneducated as you.
