@Maichblack I understand your vile it can be frustrating. But let me shed some light atleast with figures and not stories.
Using an example of Super petrol for the month of march.
Note that I have excluded any decimals
FOB= USD592/Mt
Premium/freight/insurance=USD26/MT
Port charges/KMA/Shipping/Inspection(SGS)=USD18/MT
Total landed cost(Mombasa)=USD636/MT
Usd rate Ksh92.5
Approx Landed Cost=Ksh43 per liter
Taxes = Ksh31 (+/-0.5)
Tax paid cost= Ksh74 per liter
Kenya Pipeline=Ksh3.7 per liter
Transport to station( Truck)= Ksh0.7 per liter
Station cost= Ksh78 per liter

Note:
1. OMC (eg Total/Vivo) has not paid salaries,office rent, depot fees, finance costs and other admin costs.
2. Station operator(mostly franchised) needs to also pay its bills, maintenance etc.

Lets assume the admin costs for the station and OMC is Ksh3 per liter each.
Station cost= Ksh78 per liter
Admin Cost= Ksh6 per liter
Total cost at station= Ksh84 per liter

Well ideally that should be the price at the station??? Fortunately this are not Non profit orgs.

ERC price for Nairobi is Ksh89.35
Profit= 89.35-84
= Ksh5.35
Now that has to be shared between the OMC and the station operator.
And of course GOK at the end of the year.

Hope this helps.
Disclaimer: I do not work for ERC or any GOK institution.
I am only have a few KK stocks.

we should not be paying more than 60/= for Super.

I think we should just scrap ERC.
Its such a useless body.

True.

stop crying a fish rots from the head,this people you accuse daily are very junior serving senior masters,do you think those who promised to bring the cost of living down for Kenyans don't see this?do they ever complain?

1. What are the prices in the region, continent and other parts of Non oil producing?
2. Someone do for us the mathematics of costs per Metric tonne from import to the pum. A wazuan did it Sometimes back is it @whiteowl?
3. Let's evalute the prices of others products (e.g cars,electronics, furniture e.t.c) from import to retail price and compare the % increased vs that on oil.
4. With data from above three I'll be better placed to give a fair opinion.

The last time I checked, the gaament was taking home KES. 32 per litter (or thereabout) in direct taxes for Super petrol..so even if the crude was to retail at 1 bob per barrel, the cost petrol in Kenya will never go below 32 bob!

While Novak has said he could consider cuts if other countries joined in, Russia faces significant obstacles to doing so. The freeze is conditional on other nation’s agreeing to participate, Russia’s Energy Ministry said in a statement.

are other oil producers likely to join saudi and russia?

I see inflation for this month coming down to 6.3%
But the cbr cannot be touched for fear of awakening the USD bullsSad . Small banks continue to be at the mercy of PN(the Governor).I also see the 91day T/Bill quietly broke the 9% handle upwards, at the last auction.

KES 6 extra maintenance rate to be effected by Friday next week bring the total cost of maintenance levy to KES 18 from 12

Will this be a yearly adjustment? Last year it was increased from 9 to 12

Inflation rate last month was at 5.4%

Has the country ever had a government that is more money hungry/taxes hungry than the current one???

Of course devil-ution is 45% to blame (As I was telling people before the referendum but a majority did not listen - the constitution had already been read for them!). Corruption 45% to blame. Lack of ideas & creativity, total disregard of the tax payer etc. 10%.

NB: Corruption has been (massively) devolved so devil-ution/counties are one huge pain in the behind!!!

ERC relase

Quote:
In this month’s review, ERC has factored KShs. 6 per litre in additional Road Maintenance Levy for both super petrol and diesel in line with the Road Maintenance Levy Fund (Imposition of Levy) (Amendment) Order, 2016....

...maximum allowed petroleum pump prices in Nairobi are as follows: Super Petrol increases by KShs 6.76 to KShs. 92.93 per litre, Diesel increases by KShs 9.53 to KShs. 83.24 per litre while Kerosene increases by KShs 3.41 to KShs. 61.45 per litre.

Only 7 bob? That's a marginal increase in your monthly budget which can be cut off from the Radishes budget?

The energy regulator has signalled more pain at the pump as it announced that petrol is up by Sh4.26 a litre to Sh100.27 in Nairobi in its latest review.
Diesel is also up Sh5.03 a litre to Sh89.26 while kerosene is up Sh3.75 to Sh67.19 a litre, the Energy Regulatory Authority (ERC) said Tuesday while citing a 20 per cent global increase in crude prices when the cargo was procured in December.
