Dividends ziko mbali. Books close 3-Jun 2010 and payment is 25 Jun 2010. I consider co-op a good business, sort of a mini-Equity. I think if you manage to get in the next one week, you could get a tidy sum in a few weeks.
But almost every counter is doing GREAT!

I had jumped during IPO, then dumped it immediately thereafter and never looked back. Today was the first time I looked at its historical performance and found that it had once touched 6bob!! But it has never gone back to the 13.5 peak of 22nd Dec 2008

Got in at 6.40, exited at 9.80 plus div of 0.10. That money is now buried in a dividend cashcow.

When do 1Q 2010 results come out? Will they be similar to Equity?

if equity's profit growth was as a result of economic growth then we can expect the same from coop.. but if the growth was as a result of equity's aggressive expansion as i suspect then there is no way coop can compete with them because they are not as aggressive as equity...

but the share price will rise a bit more because they are lowering their lending rate...

@mwala - you keep asking the same question, when is the right time to exit.. the ideal answer is when the stock hits its peak. as to when that is, no one knows.. If we did, don't you think we would all be sleeping until then?

@youcantstopus - i cant help but notice, most of the counters you comment on, they are all great counters with great potential(with reasons why). Do you have counters that have no potential, that are not a good buy at this moment?

15bob before june may be abit ambitious... though i dont expect to see any price dip after dividends..

Mkimwa, I do not own all of the counters I comment own. I don't even own any Co-op shares. I just try to give my opinion on issues raised.
My major holdings are in Mumias and Equity Bank.
You say that I'm interested only in counters with great potential? Well you should be too!
These are the counters that 2 years down the line will never disappoint you. I'm never interested in daily price fluctuations.
I also have other stocks, not to mention some Olympia for speculation. Got in at 8.30 (closed today at 9.10)
So there you have it. I don't think anyone owns "THE PERFECT PORTFOLIO"

Happy Investing.
