Citizen TV has embraced Facebook Live as a medium of broadcasting. NMG is still watching, I dont even think they are contemplating the move. The world is moving very fast. When US congress turned off the live broadcast on C-span during the democrats gun control sit-in, one member turned on their facebook live and broadcasted the event live. Even Obama has used FB live. Change is the only constant adapt or perish.

I heard Macharia Gaitho saying that he doesn't like the word "restructuring" that closing down or shutting products that are not making money should not be refered to as restructuring ...SMH he said this on national TV...

When does citizen broadcast live on fb? Wish all others do the same.

I think they are testing it, they had a live broadcast on Friday when Ali Kiba was in studio

In other news:

Radio Africa has started restructuring its radio division ahead of a major overhaul as the broadcasting house comes to terms with falling advertising revenues.

Radio Africa Group, which publishes the Star newspaper, has been experiencing a major drop in ad revenues over the past year. Insiders say revenue targets for the half-year have been below target for all radio platforms, as well as the newspaper.

Kiss FM has particularly been facing hard time over the past three or so years, falling in ranking from top three to the bottom of the table. This poor performance saw Caroline Mutoko pushed off air to management, with new morning presenters but that has not helped.

From the pie up here, Nfm is grouped under others, Kiss has as many listeners as Chamgei FM Laughing out loudly talk about displacements. Royal media group IS the best performing media

Kiss has been on the decline, their content on radio and TV confuses on who is their target consumers, eg classic has nice music but vulgar presenters and sex topics all day, it family unfriendly and that's why you won't find anyone listening at home.
Kiss fm repeats same music with every presenter so about every 3 hours, boring presenters like Nick, Asego and chipukizi, vulgar like busted, maoenzi, sex advice all day etc.
Kiss tv meh who watches apart from teens, mpasho just roping clicks by funny headlines like, you won't believe who Raila is dating SEE PHOTOS, or shoking what uhuru begged Raila, who wouldn't want to know, but click on it and find after going through 4 pages still no photos or any juicy gossip.

When the Star was launching, NMG rushed and launched Daily Metro. It died. When SG was launching Game Yetu, the weekly sports paper, NMG rushed and launched an English version called Sport On. It died. When SG launched the Nairobian, NMG rushed and launched a rival, Nairobi News. It died. So death of products is nothing new in NMG

Shirleen Samat and Ian Fernandez had tried to streamline the NMG broadcast division before they were poached by K24.Immediately they left, KTN overtook NTV as to claim the second spot, while QFM started losing to Radio Maisha and Milele
