Is it just me or has their service improved significantly?

On Sunday, I wrote to them after a long while. I asked to get my balance so I can decide what to buy. I received a full statement from account opening on Monday(Glad they did as there was a strange transaction-had to sort it out). A seperate note to say they've sent me a statement.

On Monday night I wrote to query the transaction and place an order..Tue I had order acknowledged and placed + a full explanation to what the strange transaction was.

As their service had gone so bad especially response to emails, I'm kinda pleased we are getting the standard services expected of an IB (Regardless of the fact we're retail).

the person manning the client communication has a good work ethic...not necessarily the whole firm.

its heartwarming to hear abt that....i've suspended all my trading since nyaga fiasco, and still need to get my transfer forms as a risk averse trader, i must say customer service can be a huge turn off....

Havent tried Dyer and Blair yet, i wanted to try Suntra, but their watch man was soo rude, i jst knew they were going to be treating my money like its shit.....

what's a good IB to start with for someone scared of the markets volatility( read tendency for brokerage houses to make off with client money)

Suntra has had an attitude problem for a while. Used to start at the reception but seems to have clearly moved closer to the door. I won't be surprised if they start to randomly punch anyone who walks outside their main door.

Masaibu, they stopped online services but email orders have always been executed. I presume perhaps coz am out of the country. Here's the email I usually use shares@dyerandblair.com (Just about to place another order tonight)

Dyer and blair are extremely good when it comes to dealing with their customers and execution of their orders. You get a feel they are taking you seriously when they talk to you. I have been dealing with them for a long time and I have no complains. I just wish they could sort out their online order system sooner rather than later. It was very convenient.

I have an alternate broker (no names for now) and their employees don't seem to care. I was asking one of their employees why they didn't get me equity shares when there were trades below my stated buy price on some of the days and he just stared at me! No explanation, being reffered to another person, nothing! He had the "Let's just stare at each other and after you are bored you can walk away" attitude. I was so pissed I had no words for him...
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.
