Something's got to give. I would buy this whole company if I had the cash. Surely someone with the cash is thinking it. But who wants GOK for a partner d'oh!

Value will only be unlocked here if GOK offloads its majority to a multinational re insurer looking for in roads into Kenya.

That is when i would start taking this share seriously, but a very low shareholding by GOK less than 5%. or lower, better yet they offload completely. but thats just a dream, and im sure the company would be come better valued if that was the case.

With EPS of 5.1 they should reward shareholders abit more, especially given the consistent nature of their perfomance over the years

My sole GoK controlled holding. I like/trust the CEO. I hope that as time goes the GoK ownership is diluted whether by a strategic investor or a takeover.

Solid numbers even with 1.2B in portfolio losses. Kudos.

From the financial statements the company increased it's stake in Zep Re from 15% to 19.98%
Shareholding in Uganda Re was tripled and it's stake is now 11.5%

I hope the investees are very profitable. I would not mind a takeover, on reasonable terms, of UgandaRe or even ZepRe coz KenyaRe has outgrown Kenya.

Forgery to cost Kenya Re

IN SUMMARY
The NLC tribunal declared the 1997 sale of the land to Kenya-Re null and void, saying the 4.7 acre parcel that was part of the transaction property was Karura Forest land.
Mr Macharia had in a 2004 suit against the Attorney-General claimed that Mr Muigai and Mr Karanja were shareholders of Sceneries, but were unable to contribute capital that would have enabled them to earn their equal stake in the firm, forcing the media mogul and Mr Kibe to strike them out

This means Kenya Re will either have to cede 6.4 acres of the land it has been awarded, or jointly with Mr Macharia, Mr Kibe and Mr Karanja pay President Kenyatta’s cousin Sh405 million going by Kenya Re’s 2014 valuation of the land at Sh6 billion
