Another 2m shares traded today. Good volumes have moved this week, together with an upward price movement. Some big persons are positioning themselves here, methinks. Was preparing to sell, but will hold on for a while till there is more info on whats going on.

I think Equity Bank will realise considerably much higher results than last year's 1st quarter. The 58 million loss from its investment banking business is going to be minimal compared to the profits that are going to be generated from its vast network of branches.
Plus the economy is picking up, not to to mention heavy rains during the first quarter of this year which can only be good for farmers most of whom bank with equity.
I hope it manages to hit its previous highs.
GOD BLESS YOUR LIFE

This is one resilient company.

I placed my order with my broker for this stock a week ago.

Went there yesterday, they hadn't made it to buy.I have since lost sh 1 per share and have to top up the money.

All these despite the negative comments.

I hope their results will be impressive, I believe it's a good long term share

@Kadonye - You are not alone. I've placed buy orders and modified the buying price twice but wapi! On friday I was so ticked off on realizing that even though on monday there were trades below my buy price, my (alternate) broker had not got me even a single share! How are shares sold at below your buy price and you don't get any? I thought the system matches the sells to the highest bid. wtf!

I wish I had placed the order with my normal broker - Dyer and Blair. Shockingly efficient these guys. When a share hits your buy price you can almost be sure they'll get you something. If only a thousand shares were sold at that price (being the lowest price), you might be pleasantly suprised that atleast a 100 or 200 were bought by you!

Back to Muiganania I decided not to modify my buying price for the third time. Take time to cool off. I hate chasing after a stock. I'm already heavily invested in the stock anyway.

But you can be sure this stock will be trading in the mid twenties by year end and it still has alot of potential going forward. It's expansion is about to start paying off. Not a bad buy for investors. Traders? Not sure.
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

These guys had a major fraud issue last week. The amount is significant. Whereas am not saying this is related to the sacking (Though it could), it will certainly leave a dent in the revenue this year.

Earlier in the year, they did a bit of pruning of 'support' services, and consolidated redundant services into a single unit.
The review of IB is completely in order.

If you were running this business, you'd want to be ruthless in dealing with loss making entities. It used to take Barclays and the like many years to make such decisions. Indeed as a shareholder, I feel like this is solid management. I stand corrected, but on the basis of just what we're seeing int he press, yes it's impressive. Sadly, people lose jobs and certainly we have to be sensitive to that but that bank is bigger than a few jobs. Alot more would be lost if such measures were not taken.

its almost impossible to get into mumias, equity and co-op now unless your with the right bank... institutional demand is very high hence blocking out the retail buyers

This is one counter i made a kill between 06 to 08.Got back in @13 last year and with the economy looking up,i will hold until the half year results,i feel first quarter may be too early for the better economy to reflect in their results. That said, the growth in the balance sheet last year may just give better results sooner.
