They needed to experiment to know this was a Bullcrap idea?? Haki Kenya kuna mchezo! Effective when?? Kama mtu yuko na ka prado high seas, hatalipa a ka lose 200k?? Back to the old 20% of value. Kama zamani. Might have to do with a 24% drop in car imports Jan-Apr 2016 compared to 2015. Page 51 from this KNBS data http://knbs.or.ke/index....131:2016&Itemid=599
Kenyans are quite price sensitive. Government learning how much so.

Kenyans are quite price sensitive. Government learning how much so. But it would have at least made people buy cars that are have already been used in Kenya and learn to maintain and give them some TLC. We would have people driving nice looking and we'll maintained KVJs like they do in Cuba. Sio ma KCF kila mahali!!! Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Kenyans are quite price sensitive. Government learning how much so. I thought so...which had led to reduction in taxes. The other reasons given in the budget was just a smoke screen. Democracy does not belong to the dead

Kenyans are quite price sensitive. Government learning how much so. True that, we used to go through a No. Plate series in 3-4 months. KCF(V) was in November last year and we are just starting KCH now... Instead of allowing the local 2nd- (I mean 3rd-) hand cars to become more expensive, the Gov't would rather continue with the old Tax regime and get more taxes. Ignore the nonsense about pro-poor vs pro-rich, these guys are not interested in that stuff

A nissan teanna 2009 model buying at a cost of 400,000 from japan I'll end up paying 450,000 taxes and if I add the clearing agent fee it will be 500,000!!!!! Value of taxes is more price of the car ? Kweli this is a tax financed economy car import tax calculator
