[quote=kivairu]Anybody with commends on reliability and performance of the HINO buses?>><<<IN Dec 2015,I went to Hino(K) in South C to buy either a Hino 300 or 500 series.Without the body they ranged from sh3,450m-4,450m.When I stopped at a truckstop and had a chat with seasoned truckers, they discouraged me into buying one. They said they are new in the market and are not tested like the Isuzus.Isuzus(ndaii) are mostly older than the drivers who drive them. And Hino's if overloaded with sand--they can't climb Kinungi viewpoint, without overheating!!!!Well,as a value investor,I didn't buy the Hino.

I am guessing this was advice from drivers who had not even driven Hino? How did they know they overheat when loaded?

Quote:
Toyota Kenya faces a major lawsuit after buyers of its buses and trucks moved to court seeking to stop sales over claims that the vehicles are faulty.

They claim the vehicles supplied by Toyota Kenya’s local dealer, Nairobi Hino, developed serious mechanical problems a few months after purchase. One particular Toyota brand, the HINO FC500, is said to have developed engine and overheating problems, brake system failures and chassis cracking even before the expiry of their warranties.

“No brand new vehicles develop such a multiplicity of problems resulting in total grounding, even lack of spare parts replacement, without a manufacturer’s defect.

Nairobi Hino Ltd took back the buses and trucks for repair, but in some cases, the buses have not been released for lack of replacement parts, yet Tsusho Capital Kenya Ltd, financing the purchase of the public service buses, still demands the settlement of the loans.

Hope the above will not be blamed on peculiar driving habits of Kenyan drivers.

For a car to be approved by Kenyans it has to pass the peculiar driving habits somehow

Kenyans have been driving Isuzu and Mitsubishi trucks for ages without any problem.

Lack of strong consumer protection laws. Toyota may get away with it. You can imagine what could be the case in countries with entrenched consumer rights. Seems that Tata trucks are even more reliable than Hinos

Mud slinging and propaganda has now entered the corporate kenya.
Politics is just things to keep the people divided and foolish and put your trust in men and none of them can do nothing for you...
