Why is it only gava firms that issue killer rights? i dont think the rights story was rushed,it was announced ages ago infact people were wondering why the loooong delay when the market was more vibrant than now "Don't let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning."

@Ebenyo. It is likely that your order was not filled. It's a que. The 6.50 thar traded were ahead of u in the queue. It is s only if the share traded at 6.45 and ur order was at 6.50 that would be abnormal. When the order expires your money is returned to your CDS account The investor's chief problem - and even his worst enemy - is likely to be himself

If you want to buy more KenGen just apply for 'excess' shares and you will get them cheaper at 6.55 than buying at 6.85 + commission from the market. Greedy when others are fearful. Now that rights have settled at 0.05, Nobody should be buying KENGEN for more than Sh6.60 inclusive of commissions!
Honestly, why should you pay more?

This is about KPLC not KenGen but it is a reason why I don't buy shares in GoK firms. I expect similar treatment to be given to KenGen. Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

P/E = 1.25 P/B = 0.16 It's hard to say no to the rights at 6.55; really hard! But, of course not for immediate returns...

Lights off as far as Trading of rights is concerned. 38.17M shares on offer at close of trading who now will be forced to pay 6.55 (KES.250M) for those rights or just walk away with nothing in their pockets as they couldnt even get a buyer willing to pay 5cents @SufficientlyP
