Damning dossier by KPMG
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Corruption permeates every sector of this nation.. I doubt that our honourable MPs are immune to this disease.. There is no hope even here.. The report will be thrown out.

Parliament is not needed here. Ni kimbelembele tu!!

KPMG were called in by Bob Collymore and luckily he looks like an upright and straight forward fellow. No one had raised any issue - outside of Safaricom - before he called them. Some MPs are just looking for a pay day given the number of times we have heard of instances money changes hands so that reports can be authored in a certain way.

Safaricom has internal mechanisms and every year a number of employees are fired because of inappropriate dealings. The only difference here is that top fellows have been implicated. Let's see if the same rules are applied.

But one thing I know about Safaricom - and you can take this to the Bank - they are very serious on corporate governance and go out of their way to enforce it. That is why this manenos have been unearthed with absolutely no external pressure.

This whole story is a bit disturbing. But my issue is this ; Under what powers conferred by statute or constitution does parliament have in order to 'purport' to conduct a probe on the affairs. Could it be because GOK has shares in parliament? Appears far-fetched. parliament only has over-sight powers over state bodies. Safaricom is not a state body, rather it is a public company.

Who cares if there is corruption in Safaricom? Especially parliament? What is their interest in this? Safaricom as a going concern has the ability to solve its own issues. Why is there public interference? Worst of all coming from the same parliament that is unable to pass a simple gender bill.

A ka loose 10 million like this for a couple of committee members and the report says everything is okay. How many people have been cleared by these committees. Even the devil can be cleared of any wrong doing by these committees if he remembers to carry a huge briefcase!
