This means investors with less than 4000 shares will not qualify for scrip dividends?

@enyands
Those with less than 4000 will receive.What this means is nobody will get .5 shares e.g 34.5 will be rounded to 34 shares

Existing 40 shares give you 1 new share from the scrip dividend.

The scrip dividend is 1 kes per share. So for example if one has 1000 kcb shares the scrip will be...
1000 shares x 1 kes = 1000 shs.

1000 divided by 38( the conversion price)
= 26.31 shares.

So 26 shares will be the scrip dividend in this case.

@Aguytrying;
You have forgotten the element of tax in your calculation.
Tax is 5% on script dividend
The calculation is as follows;
The scrip dividend is 1 kes per share. So for example if one has 1000 kcb shares the scrip will be...
1000 shares x 1 kes *0.95 = 950 shs.

950 divided by 38( the conversion price)
= 25 shares.

@mlennyma
Kazi kwako to normalise the shares to an even number or nearest 100.
There will be no rounding of to the nearest whole number.KCB also chose 38 to make its worse easier.

Scrip dividend amounting to a decimal value will be paid in cash.....Furthermore one can elect to be paid the dividend in cash instead...What do you think of the coversion price??is it fair..Hope for the rights issue it will be better.
