Online betting firm SportPesa on Tuesday suspended its sponsorship for Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards due to hooliganism.

Speaking at a joint press briefing in Nairobi yesterday, SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri said the company made the decision to protect its brand from being tarnished by the two clubs.

“As sponsors, we won’t just sit and watch as our brand is tarnished. Let the clubs take responsibility and be accountable.”

The bold move by SportPesa comes barely two months after they entered into partnerships with the clubs that saw Gor ink a Sh65 million annual sponsorship deal, while Leopards landed a Sh45 million contract.

Its extremely difficult to profit via sport betting. The betting houses calculate the porbabilities and, odds and add a premium on the house for all outcomes. Even if you place bets for big teams like barca real etc,the winnings on your side are soo small they will always be wiped by the occassional draws and losses these big teams get. Some pple here could be employees of betting companies out to lure you.

That's a very good move, fkf should follow suit and ban the concerned players.the refs also are too soft, straight red card should have been awarded to the players who shoved them around.

2-0 win for Coric.
Simple wins for Nick Kyrgios and Thomas Bellucci . Matches are ATP Estoril and ATP Munchen respectively. Easy money.smile
