is cic a good buy in the current bear market or is it doomed to a steady decline despite previous results?

When will it bounce back?

I don't know but i think it has not bottomed out yet. Mr. bear is still in town and anything is possible.

Mr. bear is now more dangerous than before. He will sweep downhill like flash floods!

Go to higher grounds vacate from the valleys of capital erosion.

For now I beseech you, flee to safer grounds where cash is King. Do not be overexcited by pockets of PPT which will get exhausted faster than you exit. Sell now and buy low when irresistible tide drowns everybody including savvy traders!

a conclusive end, cic like other insurance companies is deeply invested in the stock market which is in a bear mood currently, making it impossible for cic to operate above its peers in the industry in addition to having a high PE meaning the share price is a value trap." i have heard and i have listened"

Seller offered at market so all one needed to do was to bid at 4.70 and you're offered immediately.
Today being end month and most of the brokers/fund managers/institutions wanting to clear their debits/balance their books, expect some pressure on other volatile counters like Britam, Co-op, Centum in the last 5 minutes of trading.

mlennyma when short selling is introduced in the market, I encourage you to start taking such advice with a pinch of salt.

Guys the exposure of CIC on equities isn't that heavy as is being quoted here.
Out of a total asset base of ksh.26bn,1bn has been invested in equities with most of it done last year i.e ksh.832mn.
Most of the investment is in government securities and deposits with financial institutions
